Reflection

Minimalism is unique in the way that all individuals have the power to utilize the theory, but only a select few will practice it. If its such a great emotional relief, why will only a select few practice it? In the most simplistic form, the answer is it’s hard. You’ll have to go against everything society and social media is pushing at you today. Separating yourself from the crowd so you can live and see the false happiness our population is being sold.

On Saturday, November 6, 2021, I embarked on a minimalism project. The process in which I conducted my experiment is stated in the post above. I had a wrinkle in the way I was going to conclude my experiment. I was supposed to bring home my unused items in my dorm room, but my travel itinerary changed where I could not take those possessions with me. I will follow through with the removal of the unused items, but it’ll have to be at the end of this semester. What did I learn from this process? For starters, I learned how unorganized my college dorm room was when placing sticky notes on my possessions. But in all actuality, I only used a small fraction of the necessities I’d think I would need at college. The biggest change in my life to this date and I only need a fraction of the things I felt were at the upmost importance to me. I would never have come to this realization if it wasn’t an academic project assigned to me by my English teacher. I encourage you to search up The Minimalist and embark on your journey. Slivers, that’s the word in which I’d persuade you to start your adventure in minimalism. It’s going to be a progressive transition that’ll be outside the norm. Your pursuit to happiness is yours for the taking, when will you start your journey?
